How Nomadic Indian Started Travelling?

In his eventful life, this individual's family has relocated several times. They started off in Bhadra, then moved to Bhiwani a city near the Hisar district in Haryana then Bikaner, Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, and finally back to Mumbai.

Throughout these transitions, he had the opportunity to immerse himself in various cultures, such as Rajasthani, Haryanvi, Punjabi, and Marathi. Despite being born in Haryana, he developed into a truly multicultural personality.

Around a decade ago, he embarked on a journey to Junagarh in Rajasthan's Bikaner district, where he spent his schooling years. During his time in Junagarh, he encountered backpackers from different corners of the world.

Engaging in a brief conversation with them for about four to five minutes, he became curious about their motivations and the reasons behind their travels. This childhood encounter served as a profound inspiration and marked the beginning of his own nomadic adventures.

His first major trip took place in Meghalaya while he was in college, accompanied by his friends during their time in Delhi. However, he had never ventured out on a solo expedition. As he was not a full-time traveller, he contemplated his life and career after working at Justdial in Delhi.

Subsequently, he secured a job in Mumbai, where he remained employed for three months. Restless and driven by a desire for change, he once again left his job and began preparing for a government position.

He dabbled in various pursuits, including studying for an MBA, attempting the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) exam, and even considering the Common Admission Test (CAT).

Unfortunately, he did not succeed in these endeavors. One fateful day, he took an exam for the Combined Defense Services (CDS) and returned home, unable to sleep. The entire night passed without a moment of slumber.

The following morning, as he aimlessly scrolled through YouTube, a video unexpectedly appeared in the sidebar, featuring a traveller recounting his extraordinary experiences of journeying with minimal funds.

This resonated deeply with him, as it mirrored the story of another young traveller named Nomad Shubham, hailing from Bihar. Inspired by a TED Talk, he decided to venture out alone, relying on the concept of Couchsurfing and hitchhiking.

However, a new challenge emerged: finding an Indian traveller who shared the same approach. While it was relatively simple to encounter individuals from wealthier nations, whose currencies held greater value, locating an Indian who embraced such a nomadic lifestyle proved more difficult.

He continued his endless exploration of travel videos on YouTube, day and night. Then, one video caught his attention: it was from a well-known traveller named Mountain Trekker Varun Vagish.

Through Varun's captivating travel documentaries, especially those featuring Thailand and neighbouring countries, he found yet another source of inspiration. In one of Varun's YouTube videos, he shared his own story of how his travel adventures began.

And so, this marks the captivating story of how our protagonist's passion for travel took root and flourished, driven by the influences of various encounters and the wisdom imparted by those who had embarked on similar journeys.

Which Country Does Nomadic Indian Like The Most?

According to some of his videos, Deepanshu Sangwan expressed a deep love for Iran, particularly for its rich cultural infrastructure and delicious cuisine. What's interesting is that he clarified that Iran is not an Arab country, and its culture is distinct from other Arabic nations.

The way people in Iran treat others is different from what one might experience in an Arab country. Like every country, Iran has its two sides: a friendly and welcoming side, as well as the potential for racism or religious and cultural animosity.

However, despite these potential challenges, Deepanshu Sangwan found the people of Iran to be amazing during his visit. The experience left an indelible mark on him, and he will cherish the memories of that trip for the rest of his life.

Another country that captivated Deepanshu Sangwan was Afghanistan, a place both thrilling and undeniably dangerous. During his visit, Afghanistan was still under the control of the Taliban, making it one of the most perilous countries in the world.

Surprisingly, the presence of the United States Army brought about a semblance of democracy and stability, leading to the elimination of many violent terrorists. This positive development allowed tourism to gradually open up in Afghanistan.

In fact, one can even watch vlogs of Wandering Maniacs, who also dared to explore this enigmatic country. When Deepanshu Sangwan embarked on his journey to Afghanistan, he encountered a volatile situation.

Terrorist bombings were a real threat, especially in Kabul, the capital city. Fear and uncertainty engulfed him as he counted his moments, never expecting to make it back to India alive.

However, against all odds, his journey took a fortunate turn, and he returned safely. Deepanshu Sangwan's adventures in both Iran and Afghanistan highlight the incredible diversity and inherent risks that come with travelling.

Despite the potential dangers, his experiences shed light on the resilience of the human spirit and the ability to find beauty and meaning in unexpected places.
